Job Description: General Manager (Hospitality and Tourism - Hotel Management)
Position Overview:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving profitability. This key leadership role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in hotel management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The General Manager will lead a team of department heads and ensure the smooth running of all hotel functions.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve financial goals, enhance brand reputation, and drive overall hotel performance.
2. Oversee and manage all operational departments, including but not limited to front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales, and maintenance.
3. Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by maintaining exceptional service standards and promptly addressing any guest concerns or issues.
4. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, professional development, and employee engagement.
5. Monitor and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to identify areas for improvement and implement effective cost control measures.
6. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and execute revenue-generating strategies, maximize occupancy rates, and increase market share.
7. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry professionals.
8. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in areas such as health and safety, licensing, and employment practices.
9. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel premises to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to brand standards.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to proactively identify opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
2. Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior leadership role within the hospitality industry, ideally with a focus on hotel management.
3. In-depth knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, and industry best practices.
4. Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to drive financial performance.
5. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
7. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
8. Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
